HKSPK Drag Listeners Into Darkness With New Album ‘Heimkehr'

MetalCrawlspace.com - HKSPK return on September 11 with their second full-length album, “Heimkehr,” a compact 25-minute descent through black metal atmosphere, death metal brutality, doom, melody and flashes of punk-driven aggression.

Across eight tracks, the Brandenburg band builds an album around war, exhaustion, revenge, fractured homecomings and the kind of darkness that follows people long after the event itself ends. “Prelude” bleeds directly into the violent opening of “Torture,” while tracks like “Sonnenjäger,” “Rot In Despair” and “Rain In The Face” push deeper into the band’s mix of cold atmosphere and physical heaviness. The six-minute title track closes the record without offering much in the way of comfort.

“Heimkehr” follows HKSPK’s 2024 debut “Holy Scum” and 2025 EP “The Human Butcher,” with the band handling the writing and production themselves. Recording, mixing and mastering took place at Room13, with cover artwork by Steffen Schmolke.

The album arrives independently on all major streaming platforms September 11, with a limited CD edition of just 50 copies available through Bandcamp.

About the Band HKSPK

HKSPK formed in Brandenburg, Germany, in 2023, with Jim on vocals and lead guitar, Leon on rhythm guitar and Arne on drums. The trio write and produce their music independently, combining black metal atmosphere with death metal weight and elements of doom, melody and punk-driven aggression.

Their debut album, “Holy Scum,” arrived in 2024, followed by the “The Human Butcher” EP in 2025. The 2026 singles “Torture” and “Rot In Despair” introduced the next chapter leading into “Heimkehr.”

Onstage, HKSPK have supported Asagraum, Enisum and Waldgeflüster and appeared at M.U.R. Open Air, Godless Mountain Open Air and Summer Ends, along with shows throughout Germany and the Czech Republic.
